AFP Educational Benefit System Office at a Glance

The AFP Educational Benefit System Office (AFPEBSO) is one of the morale and welfare outfits of the AFP that grants educational benefits both to the military personnel (especially disabled) and their dependents with the aim of helping them secure a brighter future. As it recognizes our soldiers' heroism, especially of those who lay down their lives in protecting our peace, AFPEBSO gives priority to the orphans of soldiers who were killed in action.

While such a relatively young organization, which was established only in 2000 (taking the role of then AFP Provident Trust Fund or AFPPTF), the organization has already supported the education of thousands of military dependents. It is currently supporting 6000 grantees all over the country in various educational levels through its 27 educational benefit programs - three of which are mandated by

law while others are in collaboration with other organizations, foundations, educational institutions, government agencies, and private individuals.

Since AFPEBSO understands that it cannot continuously provide a better education and a diploma for each soldier's family alone, it continuously seeks help and support from members of our society while conducting various income generating activities.

AFPEBSO envisions of positioning itself as an organization for a modern AFP, where military personnel and their dependents have equitable access to lifelong non-military education and training opportunities that contribute to improving quality of life. Guided and driven by its mission of providing responsive educational benefits and assistance programs by judiciously managing and harnessing resources in order to enhance the morale and welfare of military personnel and their dependents, thereby bridging the educational opportunity gaps , the organization hopes to somehow give back to our soldiers and their dependents the recognition that they deserve through education.
